My neighborhood doesn't get many trick or treater's. The houses are too far apart for most kids to walk-they would rather go where they can get tons of candy for little a walking or work! Last night was beautiful about 55 outside and we waited around and did have a nice family come by from the hood(I asked them to)
After an hour or so,we thought let's get dressed up and play some tricks on family and friends. It's not that creepy we did have our 14 year old with us. Our first stop was my daughters. We had masks on and looked really creepy. She came to the door and we didn't say a thing. She said"my you all look scary" as she was careful not to open the door too wide, just enough room for the candy dish -at that moment my husband took his very large hairy hand and grabbed all of the candy!
She looked concerned and said"that's not very nice now no one else will have any candy" We then pulled off our masks and laughed!
The reason I am writing this is just to remind people to have a back up plan. What is we were really creepy adults or teenagers-I think it is important to have a plan just in case. My daughter was wise and had 2 friends and plenty of cell phones but that's when it hit me times have really changed-If you are handing out candy-don't do it alone and go with your gut. She did do that as well. She wasn't sure about us and was cautious.
I will say we went on to trick a few more family members and friends and oh what fun!
Hope it was safe for everyone! Now take that candy to the office and share it!!!
Can't wait until April Fools Day!!!
