Lot's to Blog about!
Life has been so busy but I will start with today and go back several weeks.
I got a call from someone that is moving out of state who needs to find a home for his Doberman-she is a $1,200 one year old dog that is well trained and free to the right home. I'm pretty good at finding homes for dogs but I have 2 days to help this dog. So,I just sent out e-mails to about 25 of my good dog friends in hopes they can net work and help find Sasha a perfect home.
Friday night was the dog ball. Heart of the Valley's biggest fund raiser of the year. It was fantastic! The food at Riverside was out of this world! Diamond(Collette and Kenny) was the music and they can just rock out. My husband Cory Vellinga was the auctioneer and did the most amazing job! This year the guest of honor was Ali McGraw. Yes,from Love Story. What a pleasure it was to meet her. She looks the same as she did in the movie too.Ali is a huge supporter of animals. She wowed everyone! The important thing was that Bozeman really gave support to this event. Thanks everyone.
That's about it for the fundraisers for the season. May was the Furball for the Stafford shelter at Chico Hot Springs and the next day was the K9 9K raising $ for Heart of the Valley,Gallatin Valley Land trust(our trails)and research for canine cancer as well.
In my spare time I went to a fantastic seminar but Steve Beck. It was "How to have a great day everyday" held at the Grantree Inn. I almost didn't go thinking that I didn't need anyone telling me how to motivate myself and others-then I thought again and thought I could pick up a few tips. Wow! It was great. We all need improvement on something sometime. Actually Steve Beck lived in Livingston for several years and bought a dog from me-he and his wife had the best pizza place around but just couldn't make enough to support a family of five-so they moved back to Chicago and he travels all over motivating people from top CEO's to the customer service folks at the local car dealer. I really trying to have a great day everyday! If Steve Beck is ever in your area, you must attend .It's well worth the time and money.
