The Lazy Y K Ranch on the Tongue River is a true, big Eastern Montana Cattle Ranch. The owners are currently running around 500 mother cows, over 100 replacement heifers, over 100 yearling bulls plus the ability to produce substantial feed. 500 + acres are irrigated out of the Tongue River. Of which, a little over 400 are under 7 pivots. The irrigated ground averages around 4.5 ton to the acre on alfalfa hay in two cuttings with aftermath grazing on the third. There is triticale under two of the pivots now that is speculated to average around 6 ton to the acre. They also have one of the pivots in corn. The Tongue River runs through the ranch for over seven miles.
